A one year old is ready for daily activities that are designed to give them support and practice during what can be considered their largest developmental growth period. They are engaging in more difficult gross motor activities, mastering their fine motor, expanding their language and experimenting with social relationships. This program is designed to offer them all of these opportunities through play.
Each day our one year olds engage in free play and exploration of materials. The children also participate in art, music, small and large group activities, as well as play outside in our outdoor environments such as our toddler yard, Mathilde Hall side yard, and the Butterfly Garden. All children are served a morning snack provided by the school. The children who stay full day will have lunch followed by an approximate two hour rest time in their classroom. There is a school lunch option available at an additional fee or children can bring a lunch from home. An afternoon snack is provided by Little Gate.
