Green Tips

The Little Gate Community will be making great efforts this year to promote awareness of conserving, reducing and reusing at both our school and homes.

A few ways we have incorporated this in our daily schedule are:

• our elephant classes take turns each month sorting and placing all of our trash into recycling bins.
• turning out the lights when we leave a room.
• not letting the water run for long periods of time.

Some ways that you can protect our planet at home:

• borrow a book from the library instead of buying a new one.
• use rechargable batteries and then recycle them when they die.
• choose toys that don't break easily so you aren't always buying more things that create more trash.
• turn off the water when you brush your teeth.
• choose locally grown food from the farmer's market.
