On Friday, our Little Gate faculty had the privilege of spending the entire day with, Christy Isbell, Ph.D., OTR/L, from Milligan College in Tennessee. She teaches child development and pediatric therapy courses, as well as practices occupational therapy in early intervention, child care and school settings. Christy explained Sensory Integration and Sensory Processing in young children and provided our faculty with ways to design our classroom environments to support sensory development for all children and offered practical solutions to meet the needs of individual children throughout the day. We all walked away with greater knowledge of how to help enhance children's senses so they can enjoy learning and grow in positive ways.
