Dear Little Gate Families,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a wonderful and memorable Winter Break. Winter is upon us here at the Little Gate! This is a good time to send in those winter cubby clothes if you haven't done so already and be sure to label any hats, gloves, scarves and mittens your Little Gater may wear to school.
Football fever is in the air! On Friday, January 6th we will have a Black and Gold Day to wish our Saints some luck in the playoffs and in case you weren't aware, the BCS Championship game is on Monday, January 9th. If your Little Gater would like to sport their purple and gold for LSU or crimson and white for Alabama (or any other team they choose), we welcome them to show their team spirit!
It's hard to believe that Mardi Gras is around the corner. In honor of King's Day on January 6th, our Little Gaters will be enjoying a slice of King Cake with their class. Also, there will be no school on Monday, January 16th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr., so be sure to mark your calendar!
January also kicks off our Dad's Mornings here at the Little Gate. On Friday, January 27th, our Elephant classes will enjoy a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon and pancakes in the school cafeteria with their Dads and then head out to the park for some outdoor play. Beginning in February, we will welcome daddies from both our two and three year old classes from 8:00-8:45 in Little Gate Park. There will be music, bubbles, balls and lots of fun going on, so mark your calendars for these important dates:
Friday, February 10th
Friday, March 2nd
Thursday, April 5th
Friday, May 4th
We are looking forward to a great start in 2012 at the Little Gate,
Camille Greenberg
Little Gate Director
